Life With The Shepherd of My Soul
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
"But Lord, I can't lie around forever. There is so much to do! I mean, these still waters are beautiful, but what about the River of Life?Yes, Lord, I know you must restore my soul...I was lost, but now I'm found. Thank you, my dear Lord.
OK. You want to do the leading? I wouldn't stray off the right path and disgrace you for anything, You know that. Oh, I see, as long as You are leading that won't happen. You could not lead me astray. Well, I DO want to honor and glorify you, Lord.
Yes, Lord, I do feel much safer because of your rod and staff. You love me, so you keep on teaching me and bringing me in line before I get into trouble. And your rod can keep the wolves at bay. It doesn't matter whether I am in the valley or on the hillside. You are there!
You are not ashamed to call me Your child. You purposely chose me and anointed me to take Your gospel to the whole world. You are my food and drink, you sustain the Life You have given me. It's been all of You! And the more I walk with You, the more I realize that this is the abundant Life you promised! It is too wonderful for words!
I am Yours for all eternity. You will NEVER leave me or forsake me. I will always be with you in Your house! How I love You, Lord Jesus

Hi Norm, I really loved your application and sharing of this great Psalm. I used Psalm 23: 5 (I think) lol during my career in Supervision and Management. I saw the Father blessing me in so many ways in the office despite the angry words and threats sometimes. I actually laughed. I would get reprimanded and then get a great appraisal and salary increase. I got 4 demotions and ended up making more money DUE to the demotions. I got a raise in pay once while having my job grade reduced. I was denied 5 V.P. promotions, but all five offices were closed within one year! God was protecting my job--not my ego! lol
Take care,
frank
