  • The Rose of Calv'ry

The song, "The Rose of Tralee" rewritten on this St. Patrick's Day
The Sweet Rose of Sharon, My Lord, My Love

The pale moon was rising above the green mountain
The sun was declining beneath the blue sea
The blood of God's Son there flowed from that fountain
It flowed from the Cross on old Calvary
.He was lovely and fair as the rose of the summer
Yet, at that moment was no beauty to see
Oh, t'was the the Love in His eye ever beaming
That made me love Jesus, the Rose of Calv'ry.
Deep darkness of evening o'er the sun was spreading
As Jesus hung there, dying for me
The earth rocked in anger, the fair skies were redd'ning
When Sin broke the heart of the Rose of Calv'ry.
He came down from heav'n to bear the wrath that was due us,
Willingly dying,so that I could be free
Oh 'Twas the the love in His eye ever beaming,
That drew me to Jesus, the Rose of Calv'ry!
