Happy Father's Day, Father!
What is the most important thing to know about God? His holiness? His sovereignty? His omniscience, omnipotence? How about His love?
Well, for my part, I would hesitate to pick any one thing, but if pushed to choose one that seems to embody all other attributes, I would say His Fatherhood.
Because He is the Father, his relationship in the Godhead is authoritive. Also, creation reflects or speaks of His fatherhood. Why did He create us? Also, having created us in His image, we are to multiply (have and be family) His love is a Father's love....yes, and also as a mother nurturing and feeding us. His provision for us is as a Father. His authority is as the head of the family - the Father. His instruction and admonitions are given as a Father.
Of course all of these are true of the ideal father - which many of us strive to be. God is that ideal Father. He is my Father
Happy Father's Day, Daddy God! Thanks and praise belong to You! I love You! Amen!!!!

nice
Hi Norm, the Fatherhood of God is a great subject for today. I read a post that was challenging the maleness of God's nature--especially the Holy Spirit. I never respond to those things--don't know enough.
He is our Father. Jesus called Him 'Father.' God called Jesus 'Son.'
He is the perfect Father for sure.

@dmcx2010@xanga - Hi and thanks for your comment.
@ANVRSADDAY@xanga - Yes, Frank, there are other attributes of God that may seem to be female in character, but Jesus taught the disciples to pray "Father" when talking to God. Part of sinful man's tendency is to downplay any kind of dependence upon God - until he needs someone to blame for his dilemma or dissatisfaction. God made us to need Him as our Father. He delights to love us and be loved.
Happy Father's Day to you!
Loved your post! Thought I'd share what I have learned about Him studying Hebrew. The word that Jesus used was "Abba" (since Jesus spoke Hebrew not Greek) and the word Abba means Daddy. If you flew to the Holy Lands today and listened to little kids running around with their dads in the streets, you would hear the name Abba being called out. It is a term denoting not only his Fatherhood, but also very much, term of endearment that comes about from a very close (father/child) bond. And since my earthly Daddy is now in Heaven. Its really a comfort to know that I have an Abba (Daddy) in Heaven to watch over me!
Great post! Thanks for sharing!
@KateeLee1@xanga - Thank you!! I had heard that name....Abba, didn't know it was from the Hebrew. I am studying the BOOK of Hebrews right now
Seriously, I have tried to learn a little Greek and Hebrew from commentaries and such, but never thought I would have enough time to become proficient in them - let alone fluent.
My youngest daughter (24) still calls me Daddie (her special spelling for me).
@estadquietos@xanga - Hi Julie! Glad to "see" you!
Glad to be seen :)
