Not Getting My Money's Worth
I have complained about this before, but not to the right person, I guess. It's about this Weblog Editor and my site in general. A year ago, I went Premium in hopes of having a more interesting-looking site and better features on the Editor. None of the options above work for me....no italics, no bold, no centering of text, underlining....nothing! The same goes for my main page. It looks the same as it did in 2008. The only thing I've changed is the profile pic (which my daughter helped me do).
I know that I am techno-challenged, but surely if I can navigate all over the place and use options on other sites, I am not totally to blame for this. I know that Premium doesn't cost all that much, but it looks to me that others get a whole lot more for their money than I do!!!!
End of rant.

What internet browser are you using? I would recommend upgrading if you're still using internet explorer 7/8. The weblog editor wouldn't work other with older browsers.
You can find this out by going to the top menu of your browser, and pressing, "Help" then, "About..." And then there should be a string of numbers, like: "7.123.45" etc.
@llamalima@xanga - I don't know where to turn. I use Explorer 9 and still have no options on my weblog editor except just bare bones. I tried looking through the trouble shooting for Xanga but there is no way to ask my particular question. Do you know how I can contact an actual person to walk me through this.....I would also like to change my theme and the whole look of my main page.
I'm probably underestimating here, but have you got the new weblog editor?
RE changing your theme. Have you tried changing it, or need help getting to changing your theme? Because to change you go to your main page, and there is a button on the top toolbar that says "Edit Theme"
You can change your backgrounds, there is no advertising and banners, etc. You can change your theme as mentioned above or use a pic (like I do) to make your own background.
@llamalima@xanga - I had, for a few days, something that I thought was the new weblog editor - and I exulted in it. It has disappeared now and I don't know why or how to get it back. I also don't know why this old thing no longer even does what it once did. As for editing the theme, I will need more help with that. I think that the two problems are related. Thanks for trying....now if I could find that official Xanga person to straighten this all out once and for all.
@stephensmustang@xanga - I am tired of my old background, but was unsuccessful in changing it.....
You can find a pic you like, right click on it, go to properties and copy the address. Then paste that address on your look and feel page where it says 'pic'. You can then choose to tile it, center it, etc. That's how I do my background.
if you have not already done so, contact xanga and tell them the problem and to have them help you get to the new editor. i would also try google chrome or some other browser to see if that helps
Premium gets rid of the ads, lets you have more photo storage and more profile pics and lets you download an archive of your blog, otherwise, as far as I know, there's no other benefit. You can check to see what editor you have here: http://edit.revelife.com/editeditorsetting.aspx and then see if it makes any difference if you switch between the options. You may also want to try another browser.
If you go to the bottom left of your main website, you'll see "about this theme." Put your cursor there and click, and you'll see some ready-made themes, but you probably want to be sure current theme is saved first. And if you've done something to your webpage you don't like, you can undo it by clicking "safe mode" at the top of your webpage. I guess it really depends on what you want to do with your site. I find editing themes pretty cumbersome and time consuming, so I don't really do very much with my sites at this point.
It's been quite a while since I've posted anything but when I do, I use an off line editor before I post anything. Check it out here
