GOD IS HOLY
Something to think about when we begin to trivialize or belittle our Sovereign Lord. He IS holiness!:
"We know nothing like the divine holiness. It
stands apart, unique, unapproachable, incomprehensible and unattainable. Only the Spirit of
the Holy One can impart to the human spirit the knowledge of the holy."
—A.W. Tozer
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said:
“ Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”(Isaiah 6:1-3)
"Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!"
(Revelation 4:8b)

Very nice post! And AMEN! Hugs and Love hope you have a beautiful rest of your day
We are really missing a true and deep sense of the holiness of God today. Yes, as believers we do have access to God, but we shouldn't ever take that for granted. Each and every time we pray we should praise and thank God for His goodness in sending Jesus Christ to reconcile us to God and to open the way for us to approach the mercy seat. Churches often overemphasize the love, mercy and grace of God and minimize the holiness, righteousness and justice of God; but right teaching and preaching of the Gospel must include all those attributes, otherwise God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ can't be understood in all His/its glory.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace AND truth.
Psalm 85:9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. 10 Mercy AND truth are met together; righteousness AND peace have kissed each other.
When Isaiah got that glimpse of God's holiness, he had some sense of the great gulf fixed, his sinfulness and his need for an atonement he could not provide in and of himself... "Woe is me! for I am undone..."
As the Tozer quote reminds us, in and of ourselves, we have no understanding of God's holiness (or of any of His attributes, for that matter). However, believers do have the gift of the Holy Spirit given to us to reveal more and more of God and God's attributes to us. I Cor. 2; II Cor. 3:17-18.
@naphtali_deer@xanga - Thank you for bringing that passage in Psalm 85. Our Holy Father God has kissed His sons and daughters because of the obedience of His Beloved Son. Thank You Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!
Amen! This is such an important revelation for the brethren to have!
Sometimes it seems the brethren have lost many important revelations... But I'm glad to hear you proclaiming this!
